Vistronix Inc., a leading consulting and systems integration company, announced today that it will implement its web-based Accountability Solution for the South Dakota Department of Workforce and Career Planning (DWCP), which will include functionality ranging from a Career and Technical Education Student Information System (SIS) used to capture and maintain student level information, to a workflow for grant processing, administration, and funds tracking feature. This initiative will be the first of its kind for the SD DWCP and will focus specifically on the requirements for the Perkins III Act of 1998 – Career and Technology Education. The solution will assist DWCP system users at both the state and local levels by enhancing their ability to accurately and easily capture, report, analyze, and interpret student information as it relates to accountability measures. The accountability solution will ultimately provide the DWCP with information to formulate and implement school improvement plans, more effectively utilize staff resources, and most significantly, better serve its students.
According to Stephanie Santa, Vice President, Enterprise Solutions at Vistronix, “The solution we’re implementing for the DWCP will significantly improve their data collection and validation activities. It will also greatly enhance reporting capabilities and streamline processes at the local and state levels, resulting in a more concentrated focus on student needs.” Vistronix’ accountability solution allows state administrators to access, review, and input information required to comply with federal and state mandates, while still maintaining control at the local level.
The Vistronix accountability solution encompasses a range of tools that support rapid application deployment and integration to existing systems, such as standards of learning testing systems, existing vocational education student information systems, teacher information systems, and several others. The accountability solution planned for the DWCP builds on accountability solutions already deployed by Vistronix in a number of states including the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE), New Hampshire Department of Education (NHDE), Office of Vocational and Technical Education (OVTE) in Mississippi, , and the Arkansas Department of Workforce Education (ADWE).
